MEDIA PLANNER

OBJECTIVE: To plan and / or buy offline media for assigned accounts
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
1. Develop and implement offline media plans for assigned accounts by:
– Utilising available market research and insights to drive media selection
– Ensuring that plans are consistent with the brief
– Ensuring that rates and surcharges are accurately applied
– Ensure that deadlines are met
2. Keep abreast of the current trends/changes in offline media and special media opportunities
by maintaining interaction with media houses.
3. Negotiate contracts on client’s behalf as well as keep AE’s abreast of status of existing
contracts by
– Ongoing dialogue with media houses
– Diarising renewal dates and informing AE’s as necessary
– Buy media on behalf of clients by
– Negotiating the best rates for clients
– Carefully evaluating and discussing options with Media Manager
– Maintain effective relationships with both clients and media houses
– Ensure clients ads are aired as booked by:
– Liaising with media houses and traffic personnel throughout the campaign
period
– Utilising available software to monitor clients’ advertising
4. Assist with monthly invoice reconciliation of assigned accounts
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
– Tertiary level education
– Minimum of 3 years experience in a related industry
– Ability to use one’s initiative
– Proficient in Microsoft Suite
– Organisational skills
– Good communication skills
– Report writing skills
